NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -
Authorities are searching for a man who may be missing in the Norwalk River early Friday morning.
Three men were "in an altercation with another man" near the intersection of Wall and Main streets around 12:15 a.m., Norwalk Fire Deputy Chief Stephen Shay said.
Shay said the "altercation" ended up in the Norwalk River. Two men were able to get out of the Norwalk River, but Shay said one did not get out of the water. He was swimming towards the Wall Street overpass.
However, he disappeared.
After firefighters and officers searched the shore and the water with marine units, authorities said that man is still believed to be missing.
As of 11 a.m., the man still had not been found.
Marine units from the Norwalk Fire Department, Norwalk police, the U.S. Coast Guard and state police continue to help in the search efforts.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Norwalk detectives at 203-854-3012.
