DANBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Danbury arrested two people for separate crimes involving young girls.

They said on March 11, they received a complaint that 72-year-old Victor Handal inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl.

Handal did it in 2010 and it was in a sexual manner at a home in Danbury, according to the complaint.

Over the course of their investigation, police said Handal had sent inappropriate text messages to the same girl in 2015 when she was 15 years old.

An arrest warrant was issued and Handal turned himself in on Friday.

He was charged with risk of injury to a minor by impairing morals and risk of injury to a minor by sexual contact.

Handal posted a $30,000 bond and was given a court date of Sept. 29.

The second arrest involved 22-year-old Carlos Samaniego-Ortega.

Though his case was separate, police said he exposed himself to a 9-year-old girl at a home in Danbury back in May.

An arrest warrant was obtained on risk of injury to a minor charge.

He also turned himself in to the Danbury Police Department Friday.

Samaniego-Ortega's bond was set at $75,000.
