MANCHESTER, CT (WFSB) -

Manchester police warned drivers in the area of New State Road and West Middle Turnpike to use caution, as power is out for traffic lights in that area.

Eversource officials said there were two car crashes in the area, causing the power outages.

Just before 3 p.m., Eversource officials said that there are about 614 customers without power in Manchester. As of about 4 p.m., there were 160 outages reported.

Initially, officials said the power outages appear to be caused by weather conditions, however that was inaccurate.

Heavy rains moved through the state on Monday. They are expected to clear out by this evening.

Eversource officials also said they did receive phone calls about possible power surges in the area. An Eversource supervisor is going door-to-door in the area to assess issues and damage.
