Fire officials in Greenwich are investigating a fire that left one woman dead on Sunday afternoon.
The fire was reported at a home on Windsor Lane, just before 2 p.m.
When crews arrived, they were told one person was possibly trapped inside the home.
Police located the woman on the first floor, and removed her from the home and administered CPR in the front yard.
She was taken to Stamford Hospital where she passed away.
The State of Connecticut Medical Examiner is in the process of identifying the victim and the determining the cause of death.
Officials said about 50 firefighters responded to the scene and remained there for about three hours.
The fire started in the garage, but the cause remains under investigation.
