A volunteer firefighter battling for her life, as the community rallied around her, has died.
Amanda Bernier was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2014.
A Facebook page dedicated to Amanda’s battle shared the news of her passing on Wednesday.
The diagnosis came only days after she and her husband Chris found out she was pregnant.
Amanda went on to give birth to her daughter, and outlived the 12 to 18 month life expectancy she had been given.
