Buses peddling 'Mikel Knight' CDs have been popping up all over Connecticut and consumer safety advocates are warning customers to be wary.
The buses and vans have been spotted in towns like Bristol, Manchester, Wallingford and Cromwell, according to the Better Business Bureau.
The BBB said Knight, a country music signer, hires a "maverick dirt road street team" to go from place to place to sell his CDs.
Members of that team have been said to be overly aggressive and arrested in other states.
"They are accused of breaking several laws, and employees complain about 'being ridden through 18- or 21-hour days, beaten up for missing sales quotas, or left unpaid by the roadside,'" the BBB said. "Multiple former team members said in interviews that they'd regularly gone weeks with no days off, sleeping in mostly in the vans."
The BBB told people not to respond to Craigslist ads and call police if they see the buses.
