A major road closure will go into effect on Monday morning in New Haven.
Starting at 7 a.m., Grand Avenue will close between James and East streets.
The closure will allow for the upgrade of the Providence and Wooster railroad crossing.
Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will still be allowed, but all vehicles will be detoured around the area of Chapel Street.
The closure will be in effect for the next four weeks.
Construction is expected to be completed by Oct. 23.
