Wednesday is National Drink Beer Day, according to Budweiser and NationalDayCalendar.com.
Budweiser said it conducted a first-of-its-kind survey called "Beer with your Buds." With the help of Learndipity Data Insights, it asked 2,000 Americans over the age of 21 to choose their top drink to enjoy with friends at a bar or other social venue.
The first question involved America's top social drink of choice. The answer, of course, was beer.
The second question involved a preference of domestic or imported beer:
Third, Budweiser ranked the most beer-loving states in the country.
Connecticut did not tap into the top 25. The top three states were Massachusetts, Missouri and Wisconsin.
However, the survey said the eastern part of the country loves beer the most.
Lastly, the survey determined that domestic beer drinkers were seen as "more approachable."
At bars and other venues, 70 percent agreed that was true for women and 59 percent agreed for men. That was compared to imported beer drinkers where only 36 percent agreed for women and 29 percent agreed for men.
A margarita is the highest-ranking cocktail for "approachability" with 38 percent of woman and 28 percent of men agreeing.
On social media, beer drinkers have been using the hashtag #DrinkBeerDay to toast.
