WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WFSB) -

For the month of October, or Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Windsor Locks Police Department is showing their support for finding a cure for breast cancer by wearing pink and decorating their cars with pink decals.

Lieutenant Clifford Smith said in a release that many of the officers on the force have had a close friend or relative stricken with the disease.

Officers involved in the month long mission stress the importance of early detection of breast cancer so they “can ‘Arrest Breast Cancer and Unlock the Cure’.”

In the release, officers “feel it’s a small way of showing the community our commitment to saving lives.”
