WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

A man faces charges for attacking his ex-girlfriend with a box cutter, according to West Haven police.

Police said they arrested 45-year-old Arthur Glen Mabry of New Haven.

They were called to a home on Glade Street around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said they learned that a woman had been sliced in the abdomen with a box cutter.

She was brought to an area hospital for emergency treatment.

A description of Mabry was given to police by the victim, who told them that the suspect was her ex-boyfriend.

Officers said they found the suspect walking a short distance away from the scene of the crime.

As they approached, they said they saw him throw the box cutter onto the pavement.

Mabry was charged with first-degree assault, violation of a protective order, burglary and criminal mischief.

His bond was set at $150,000.
