A man whom Danbury police called "suicidal" prompted an emergency response from them and put two schools into lockdown.
Police said the incident put Immaculate High School and the Pope John Paul Center in lock down mode.
Just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, police said they received a call about a Facebook post from a man who lived on Garfield Avenue.
The post suggested that the man was suicidal and may have a rifle.
Officers arrived and found the man in the backyard. They said he had the rifle pointed at his head.
They established a perimeter.
Crisis negotiators arrived and around 8 a.m., the man peacefully surrendered.
Police said he was transported to Danbury Hospital for evaluation.
