The Eversource Hartford Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k kicks off at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The day marks the 23rd running of the event.

The start time for the marathon and half marathon takes place in front of the Capitol at 8 a.m. with the wheelchair start at 7:55 a.m. The 5K race starts around the corner at the intersection of Washington and Buckingham streets at 8:01 a.m. The HMF FitKids races start on the east side of Bushnell Park by the Pump House at 9:30 a.m.

HMF said its crews have been working on preparing the courses.

“When the race signs and banners start going up, everyone across the greater Hartford region can feel the excitement," said Beth Shluger, CEO, Hartford Marathon Foundation and the event's race director. "We are proud that this race pumped an estimated $13.6 million of economic value to the region in 2015 and has always focused on charity, volunteerism and the positive mission of supporting health and wellness."
