Reddit posts have to be taken with a grain of salt.
However, one that began making the rounds this week is raising more than just a few eyebrows.
A man with the username "halfthrottle" posted an image of a hospital bill that listed a $39.35 charge for "skin to skin after a c-sec."
The post has been viewed more than 5 million times and has since gone viral.
The user responded to questions in the comments.
"The nurse let me hold the baby on my wife's neck/chest," the father wrote. "Even borrowed my camera to take a few pictures for us. Everyone involved in the process was great, and we had a positive experience. We just got a chuckle out of seeing that on the bill."
One user under the name mike_hawks surmised that it was likely part of the overall time it took to complete the cesarean section.
"It's minutes," the user responded. "Divide by 79 and it comes out to the same rate as the skin to skin. So no, OP didn't get charged extra for this, they just broke it out separately for some sort of documentation reason. My bet is that had she not done the skin to skin contact it would have been listed as 80 minutes of C section."
The father said he simply laughed about the bill and wanted to share it.
