A 60-year-old man died in a motor vehicle crash on Friday night in New Hartford, which was one day before his birthday.
Bruce Anderson, of Glastonbury, was driving his 2011 Toyota Rav4 westbound on Route 202 around 6:30 p.m. Police said the Rav4 “veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail” on the westbound side of the road.
The Rav4 crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a 2002 Volkswagen Passat and 2007 Toyota Corolla.
Anderson died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Police said Passat driver Janelle Mattson, of Winsted, suffered “serious injuries.” Police said 20-year-old Mattson was rushed to Hartford Hospital by Life Star medical helicopter.
Three people including a 9-year-old and 14-year-old in the Corolla suffered “minor injuries,” police said.
The crash is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
A wrecker towed all three vehicles from the scene of the crash, police said.
