NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

Two men were arrested after a man suffered serious injuries from a hit-and-run that happened in New Britain last week.

Christopher Myers, 31, was charged with felony evading responsibility in connection with the incident.

Myers was arrested on Tuesday, according to police.

Anthony Omar Rios-Ruiz, 35, was also arrested for interfering with police, investigators said.

Police said 55-year-old Gerald Aleksiewicz was walking in the rear parking lot of 75 Arch St. when he was hit by the vehicle, the driver of which fled. It happened just before 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Aleksiewicz was transported to the hospital and remained in critical condition as of Tuesday night.

Police said they learned that Myers was the driver of the vehicle.

Shortly after the incident, they said Rios-Ruiz gave police a fake name and a story about what happened.

Investigators also determined that Rios-Ruiz was a passenger in Myers' vehicle at the time Aleksiewicz was hit.

Myers is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Rios-Ruiz is being held on a $50,000 bond.
