Western Connecticut State University said it locked down its Westside campus because campus police dealt with a situation on Thursday morning.
The "all clear" was given moments later.
Campus police told Eyewitness News that more information about what happened would be provided later in the day.
A professor on campus told Eyewitness News that there were reports of gunshots; however, the shots were actually from duck hunters.
"Stay in place and wait for the all clear message," the school posted to its Facebook page. "This applies to Westside campus only. Thank you for your cooperation."
