WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WFSB) -

Overnight issues for United Airlines have caused delays for flights across the country, including in Connecticut.

One arrival was affected at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, according to the airline.

United officials told Eyewitness News that everything departing from the airport for them remained on time Friday morning.

The arrival delay was coming in from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. The delay was only about a half hour.

United Airlines posted to Twitter that it had a nationwide problem Thursday night. It was an issue with its weight reporting system.

That led to some big delays with passengers tweeting for hours from inside airplanes stuck on tarmacs.

United said the issue has since been fixed. It's now working to get affected passengers to their destinations.

The problem was the latest in a string of airline issues.

In August, Delta was forced to cancel nearly 200,000 flights after a major system failure.

That came only a few weeks after an outage caused more than 1,000 cancellations at Southwest Airlines.

Passengers flying United Airlines on Friday are asked to double check the time of their planes with the airline itself.
