EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The cause of death for a man killed in last week's deadly plane crash is expected to be released soon.

Investigators said Feras Freitekh from Jordan was killed when the twin-engine plane he was in came crashing down on Main Street in East Hartford.

Freitekh was a student pilot at the time, but it's unclear whether he or instructor Arian Prevalla had control of the aircraft.

Prevalla survived. He remains in fair condition at the hospital, according to officials.

Sources have said that the two men got into a fight mid-air and that the plane was crashed on purpose. They said it was a suicide attempt by Freitekh.

This as Eyewitness News learned last week that the U.S. Joint Terrorism Task Force and East Hartford police were investigating two men staying at a local motel just down the street from the deadly crash.

It's unclear, however, who was at the motel and why the task force was there.
