MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -

A student at a high school in Meriden was arrested for attacking both a hall monitor and a school resource officer.

Police said they were called to Platt High School Thursday for a disruptive student.

They said the boy, who was not identified because he's a juvenile, assaulted one of the school's hall monitors, followed by the school resource officer.

The student resisted the officer's orders, was combative and refused to follow any instructions.

The hall monitor and resource officer were not seriously hurt.

The student was not hurt.

Police said a rumor on social media said the student may have been in possession of a firearm. However, police said the student had no such weapon.

They said the student didn't even mention a weapon.

Police said he was removed from the school and charges will be forthcoming.
