The Late Late Show with James Corden has become known for its singing numbers, particularly carpool karaoke.

Thursday night, however, was different.

Corden welcomed Grammy, Emmy and Academy Award winner Cher.

Cher came onto the stage clearly dressed to perform.

"I'm going to do one of my favorite songs tonight," she said. "It's very close to my heart, but I want to do it in a different way."

Cher said she was going to need some help.

Corden came out dressed like 80s Cher, to which Cher raised some questions.

"Out of the two of us, what makes you possible think you could be 'Cher?'" she asked. "I'm literally Cher."

Together, the duo performed an updated version of the Sonny and Cher classic "I got you babe."

This time, however, it was called "I got you bae."

It included lyrics like "They say we're young and we don't know... how to find love without using your phone."

Corden and Cher wrapped up the number to a standing ovation from the crowd.
