Today is an Early Warning Weather Day due to a wind advisory.
Wind will be strengthening this afternoon and this evening.
According to the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Eastern and Central Connecticut.
They predict that winds of over 40 MPH are possible.
Today may still be wet at times, as the air turns cooler and the wind increases.
"Gusting near 30-40 mph at times, the wind may result in tree branches down and isolated power outages," said meteorologist Mike Cameron.
Scattered and sometimes heavier showers will pass, that may linger into the mid-afternoon.
"If enough cold air gets pulled down from aloft, a few of the showers may mix with some wet snowflakes at high elevations in the northwestern hills," said Cameron.
