Hartford Police cracked down on a second floor apartment at 535 and 537 Zion St that resulted in eight arrests and a seizure of guns, drugs, and money.
The police department with assistance from the Vice and Narcotics unit and the Emergency Response Team operated on a search warrant that several people owned guns and were selling drugs from the Zion Street apartment, Deputy Chief Brian Foley said in a release.
Surveillance video was established as police entered the building. Upon arrival, police said, several occupants fled the scene on foot and either entered the adjacent building or ran through the back yard.
Police said they were able to arrest the people who fled. Inside, police obtained a loaded .22 caliber gun, 470 bags of heroin, and 270 bags of crack. Outside the scene, police seized 13 fentanyl patches, 10 bags of heroin and 300 dollars.
Eight people were arrested on similar charges of criminal trespassing, possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, as well as, interfering with police and operating a vehicle without the proper insurance.
The arrestees include. Armado Colon, 47; Eduardo Oritz, 33; Frank White, 58; Bradley Gonzalez, 36; Ramon Benitez, 33; Hipolito Aldana, 21; Teresita Castro-Luna, 52 and Luis Rivera, 37.
