WOODBRIDGE, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating two burglaries and an attempted burglary in Woodbridge over the past week.

According to police, someone broke into and burglarized a home on Cow Path Lane on Friday morning, between 9:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.

There was also a burglary on Racebrook Road on Oct. 15. According to police, a homeowner found several doors open, rooms ransacked, and items stolen.

"My thought is I better pay attention to closing windows and locking doors," said Sharon Bender, who lives in the area. "There is a pretty good block watch and people look out for each other, but these things happen."

The same night as the Racebrook Road incident, police responded to a security alarm on Penny Lane.

A screen door was reportedly propped open and glass had been smashed, but police add it looked like the alarm sounded and the thieves ran off before they could even enter.

Police haven’t said if there are any leads.

Police are advising residents to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious by calling West Haven Police Department at 203-387-2511 or 911 immediately.
