CT mayor 'cancels' Halloween over Walking Dead premiere

DANBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A Connecticut mayor "canceled" Halloween after watching the season premiere of the Walking Dead

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton is an avid fan of the AMC show about zombies and often tweets about the show while watching it. 

On Sunday, the Walking Dead returned for its seventh season and many wanted to know  the victim of bat-wielding bad guy Negan.

After reveal, Boughton took to social media to express his grief at the loss of the characters. 

Boughton joked that there would be a memorial service to honor the passing of the two characters.

The mayor also commented on who was expected to attend the memorial.
