MANSFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Emissions and traffic violations led to a heroin bust.

State police said they arrested 29-year-old Ryan Greenham of Tolland after he was found to have 180 bags of heroin.

Troopers said he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Haley Rosborg, 22, of Coventry.

They said they noticed improper exhaust and an improper stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Route 195 and Baxter Road in Tolland.

The vehicle was stopped at a gas station in Mansfield Tuesday around 9 p.m.

After noticing indications of criminal activity, state police said the trooper asked a K9 unit to respond.

The K9 detected something inside the vehicle and a search was conducted.

In addition to the bags of heroin, troopers said they found cocaine in Greenham's clothing that was individually packaged for sale. A digital scale and drug paraphernalia were also found.

Greenham was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, illegal possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on a $200,000 cash/surety bond and was given a court date of Oct. 26 in Rockville.
