Bristol police are investigating stabbing that happened early Sunday morning, leaving a man in critical condition.
The 30-year-old male victim was found on King Street on the side of the road at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The victim had several stab wounds to his upper torso, and police said his injuries appeared to be life threatening.
The unidentified man was taken to the hospital by two people who found him on the side of the road. He was transported to Hartford Hospital where he underwent surgery and is in critical condition.
Ron LaFountaine said he was sound asleep on Sunday morning when he heard arguing right outside his home.
"I was sleeping and I just heard a lot of yelling," LaFountaine said. "It lasted about maybe 15 minutes, I didn't see anything ... and I went back to bed."
There were two parties being held on either side of the street and they both wrapped up about an hour before the incident. It’s unclear if the 30 year-old was at either one of them.
"There’s no need for violence, we don't want anything to happen to anyone, and we want people to live in peace,” said Craig Tanguay, of Bristol.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police at 860-584-3000.
