Month long investigation into Groton robbery leads to arrest

GROTON, CT (WFSB) -

After five months of investigation, Groton police have made in an arrest of suspect who they said stole an amount of money from a Henny Penny in Groton.

On May 25th, shortly before midnight, a suspect entered the Henny Penny located at the corner of Route 184 and Route 117 in Groton, brandishing a knife, police said, in a release. The suspect stole cash and fled on foot toward Candlewood Rd.

Police arrested 35-year-old, Niantic resident Brandon Billian, when he turned himself into police headquarters on Sunday evening. He was arrested without incident, and charged with first degree robbery with a deadly weapon.

Billian is being held on $130,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Monday, October 31.
