4-year-old dies in Groton crash

GROTON, CT (WFSB) -

A 4-year-old child died after a crash in Groton on Monday evening, police said. 

The two-car crash was reported on the Gold Star Highway at intersection of Packer and Welles roads around 5:15 p.m. 

Three people from one of the vehicles were rushed to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London. Police said Delilah Ali was flown by Life Star medical helicopter from Lawrence and Memorial Hospital to Yale-New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Delilah died from injuries suffered in the crash, police said. 

The other two people suffered "serious, but non-life threatening injuries," police said.  The driver of the second vehicle suffered "minor injuries" and police said that person was treated at the scene of crash. 

An autopsy will be conducted on the body of Delilah by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. They will look to confirm manner and cause of death.
