4 men arrested following attack near Naugatuck school

NAUGATUCK, CT (WFSB) -

Four men from Waterbury were arrested for an attack that happened near an elementary school in Naugatuck.

Police said Haakeem Mitchell, Sakwon Mitchell, David Williams and Christopher Gaskins were taken into custody after the Halloween night incident.

They said they responded to an area near Salem Elementary School for a report of an assault.

The suspects left the area before officers arrived.

Police said they found two male victims at the scene.

One man had a cut to his shoulder. A boy who was with him had a cut on his chin, according to police.

The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Over the course of the investigation, police said they learned the identities of the four people involved.

They were found at a home in Waterbury.

Haakeem Mitchell was charged with breach of peace, risk of injury to a child and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

Sakwon Mitchell was charged with second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and breach of peace.

Williams was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and breach of peace.

Gaskins was charged with breach of peace, first-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

All four were given a court date of Tuesday in Waterbury.

They were held on $100,000 surety bonds.
