Police rescue 2 Chihuahua puppies, mother in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

Police helped rescue two Chihuahua puppies and their mother in New Britain on Wednesday morning, 

The three dogs were discovered in the area of Roosevelt School, according to New Britain Police Sgt. Paula Keller. The animals had made a home in a woodchuck hole behind some juniper bushes.

The police spent the morning rescuing the animals and then took them to a vet to be treated for various aliments.

All three animals were immediately adopted after their rescue, Keller said.
