An East Haddam man died after a crash in Durham on Friday morning, state police said.
A 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SE was traveling westbound on Maiden Lane around 8:15 a.m. when police said 28-year-old Clifford J. Petrizzo lost control for an unknown reason.
The Jetta crashed into the metal beam guard rail near Brick Lane, state police said. Police said the impact from the crash caused the vehicle to roll over and Petrizzo was ejected from the Jetta.
Petrizzo died from his injuries suffered in the crash, police said.
There's no word on what caused the crash. The deadly single-vehicle crash remains under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
Brick Lane was closed until just before 2 p.m. State police said Coginchaug High School was not affected by the road closure.
No further information was released by police.
