WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Cassandra Gomez was not one of the parents who was shocked when Kids Town Daycare was shut down after accusations of child abuse.

Teacher Adnelly Moipard was arrested after police said she was caught on camera dragging a three year-old child so violently that it broke her arm.

Gomes said her four year-old son told her that his teacher had hit him.

"I knew that sooner or later she would get caught," said Gomes.

She alerted administrators at the school. They agreed to show surveillance footage and was shocked by what it showed.

"She was striking the kids...she striked my son...and she was yanking them by the arms," said Gomes.

Gomes said she removed her son from the school and talked with a lawyer about the alleged abuse.

She told Channel 3 News when she returned and asked to view the video again Kids Town administrators said it had been destroyed.

"What they did with my situation...they try to sweep in under the rug," said Gomes.

Gomes figured at the time she couldn't prove the abuse, but when she saw on Eyewitness News that Moipard had been arrested and charged with assault she felt the need to speak out.

"When this came out I was happy like okay...now I know it wasn't just me," said Gomes.

In an exclusive interview with Channel 3 Eyewitness News Moipard denied any wrongdoing.
