Metro-North said Monday morning that it was providing alternative bus service to rail riders on the Waterbury branch.
It reported a mechanical difficulties on the line from Waterbury to Bridgeport.
Riders were urged to listen for announcements at their stations.
Bus service was for the 6:42 a.m. train.
The rail service did not say the reason for the mechanical issues.
