Norwich police have arrested five juveniles accused of setting fires at two locations last month.

Police said the juvenile males are allegedly connected to fires that broke out at the former SMS Textile Mill on Franklin Street, and the former YMCA building on Main Street.

Both of the fires caused significant damage to the buildings involved.

While no firefighters were injured battling the fire at the textile mill, two Norwich firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze at the former YMCA.

The accused males are under the age of 18, and they are facing second-degree arson, third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.
