OLD SAYBROOK, CT (WFSB) -

Two men were arrested Friday night after they got into a fight inside the Cuckoo's Nest Restaurant in Old Saybrook.

Old Saybrook police said they were called to the restaurant on Boston Post Road shortly after 8:30 p.m.

According to the caller, the pair were involved in a fight on the second floor of the restaurant and dishes were being thrown.

Police said upon their arrival they found the men, who are not acquainted with one another, involved in an argument.  Officers later determined that the pair got into a verbal argument about President-Elect Donald Trump.  That argument then escalated to a physical fight.

Both men, who were identified as Evan Brown, 34, of Lyme, and Douglas Dahlberg, 58, of Clinton, were arrested.

Brown was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault.  Dahlberg, was initially taken to the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic for injuries sustained during the argument, he was later charged with beach of peace.

Both men were held on bond for a later court date.
