DANBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton said spray painted swastikas have been found around town, and said it will not be tolerated.

Boughton took to Facebook on Monday afternoon, saying the signs of hate “are troubling and horrifying.”

He told Eyewitness News that a swastika was painted on the side of a house over the weekend, and just down the road another was painted on a car.

There were four other similar incidents that happened in the same neighborhood surrounding West Street, in the weeks before the election.

“Danbury is a peaceful compassionate community - there is no room for hate,” Boughton said.
