STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Stratford over the weekend. 

Police said Rodney Johnson Jr. used handgun that was stolen from Trumbull two years ago in a shooting on Friday night.  During the arrest of Johnson on Monday night, police recovered a .380 caliber handgun and an electronic defense weapon.  

Johnson was charged with first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, carrying a pistol without a permit and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was also charged by the Trumbull Police Department with sixth-degree larceny by possession and illegal transfer of a firearm. 

Johnson is being held on $500,000 bond. He is expected at Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday.
