The body of a Stamford man that went missing in New York City was located in New Jersey on Wednesday.
According to investigators, Joseph Comunale attended a party in the upscale Grand Sutton apartments early Sunday morning with friends. Sources told Eyewitness News that police believe he never left.
People who live in the building were swarmed by police when they combed through a scene of a fourth floor apartment.
Officers said they have been using K9 units during their investigation and have taken paper bags filled with evidence out of the building.
Police were first called when someone dialed 911 to report a suspicious man leaving the building dragging a large bag.
Detectives said the man then placed the bag in a car before driving away.
Sources believed that police dogs found a bloody sheet in a bag outside the building as well as blood on a luggage cart that was requested by a resident of the building.
Police said the person who requested the luggage cart was taken in for questioning. Sources said the person also reportedly asked a doorman how long video surveillance was kept by building management.
What Comunale does for work or who he was with remains a mystery.
His family said they were too upset to speak with the media. They did say that they're holding on to hope that he'll be found alive.
Eyewitness News will have more on this story starting at 5 p.m.
