NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

A video of a dancing Connecticut police officer has gone viral on social media.

Officer Matthew Sulek was in the parking lot of the Walgreens in New Britain this weekend. He noticed some teenagers listening to rap music and decided to dance along in his cruiser. The teens turned up the music as the cruiser was pulling into the lot.

"I noticed that they did that and I said 'no way, turn it back up,'" Sulek said. "Let just enjoy life with each other, so I got out of the car and started jamming out with them."

Sulek, who has been a patrolman for more than four years, even got out of the vehicle and dabbed with the teens. The students laughed and joked with the officers.

"Everyone thinks we are robots, but we're not we are human beings," 26-year-old Sulek said. "And I think it takes a little bit for people to notice that."

At the end of the video, the teens shouted not all cops are bad and added Sulek bought them pizza.

The video was posted on social media by one of the teens. The video has been viewed more than 3.5 million times.

This weekend's dance off was not the first time Sulek was caught on camera. Sulek was doing the Whip/Nae Nae dance with a group of trick-or-treaters at safe Halloween event last year. He also showed off his moves at a car show in New Britain. But, his message was simple.

"There's ways to be a cop and ways to be a police officer and that's how to be an officer," Sulek said. "That's how you bridge the gap with the community especially such young youths, why not be part of their lives."
