HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Shortly after midnight on Sunday snow is expected for higher elevations as storms originating in New York move into the state from the west, said meteorologist Mike Cameron.

Snow is expected to accumulate on hill-tops in areas through Northern Litchfield County, where towns could expect to see an inch to 2 inches of snow in lower elevations. While in high elevations, at least 2 to 4 inches could be expected.

The Greater Hartford could see a dusting of snow on lawns, before mixing to rain and snow showers by mid-morning and afternoon.

A wind advisory has been issued for the shoreline as wind speeds could reach upwards of 40 m.p.h.

Winds of this strength cause minor inconvenience and occasional spotty power outages—just enough to inconvenience some,” said Mike Cameron.
