Bristol man identified as victim of crash involving bicycle

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Bristol have identified a bicyclist killed in a weekend crash.

Alvin Colon, 49, of Bristol, was found to be suffering from life-threatening injuries on Pine Street Saturday just before 5 p.m., according to police.

Investigators said that Colon had been traveling north across Pine Street from a Valero Gas Station when he collided with a 2004 Honda Accord driven by 75-year-old Donald Martin on Bristol.

Martin was not hurt.

Colon, however, was transported to Bristol Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
