WATERTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

An Oakville man was arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a child under the age of 10 in Watertown.

Police charged 25-year-old Paul MacLellan with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

The arrest of MacLellan comes after the unidentified child disclosed the sexual assault to police. Investigators said MacLellan knew the child before the sexual assault.

MacLellan confessed to the incident.

He is being held on a $200,000 bond. MacLellan was scheduled to be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday.
