PD: 2 arrested in connection with fight outside Naugatuck home

NAUGATUCK, CT (WFSB) -

Police arrested two men after a fight outside of a Naugatuck home on Tuesday evening. 

Joshua Petro, of Oakville, and Jauquille Cooper, of Waterbury, face multiple charges including possession of a firearm.

The incident occurred on 16 Hoadley St. where police said Petro and Cooper attempted to gain entry into the home around 5 p.m., but were confronted by the residents. 

Eyewitness reports said that the suspects did "brandish handguns," but no firearms were discharged during the incident. Police said there was a brief fight, and one person was "seriously" injured. Police did not identify the person injured during the fight.  

Police said Tuesday's incident "was not a random incident" and they believe the public "is no danger to the general public."
