A fifteen-year-old boy was stabbed in the back on Wednesday afternoon after a fight with four other young men.
Police were called to the Pediatric Emergency Department at Yale New Haven Hospital around 2:40 p.m. where the victim was being treated. Medical personnel and police determined his wound to be non-life threatening.
According to police, the victim’s mother told them the fight occurred near Sherman and Whalley avenues and that her son was stabbed in the back by a pocket knife.
Police said they recovered the boy’s “bloodied shirt,” on Whalley Avenue.
The victim has yet to provide a testimony and police said they are having “little luck,” getting him to talk.
Investigators are hoping to use surveillance footage to “shed light on this case,” police said.
