Connecticut State Police troopers arrested a man traveling more than 100 MPH with three young children in the vehicle on Interstate 84 in Manchester late Saturday evening.
Police said they clocked a vehicle going 123 MPH on the westbound side of I-84 in the area of Exit 58 just before midnight. The suspect’s speed was twice the limit of the 55 MPH zone, according to police.
Following the traffic stop, troopers noted a woman in the passenger seat and three children between the ages of 5, 9, and 12 in the backseat.
Police arrest the driver, Terryville resident, Ricardo Torres, 41 without incident. Torres was charged with reckless driving, risk of injury to a child and reckless endangerment.
Torres was released on $5,000 bond. He is expected to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 12.
