Hamden officer's vehicle rear-ended

HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -

A Hamden officer was rear-ended on Saturday, according to police.

They said it happened on Whitney Avenue around 9:15 a.m.

Police said Officer Michael Pantera was driving southbound in his marked vehicle when a woman flagged him down.

As he slowed down to pull over, his vehicle was struck by a 32-year-old Cheshire resident.

Police said that the woman from Cheshire was "looking down" to adjust her heater before the crash.

Both Pantera and the unidentified driver were brought to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
