WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in SWAT gear responded to a situation in West Hartford Wednesday morning that they said eventually turned out to be a ploy.

SWAT vehicles and officers were seen arriving on West Beacon Street around 10:30 a.m.

Diana Fuentes Centeno, 35, ended up being arrested for telling police that someone with a weapon busted into her apartment. However, no weapon or suspect was found.

Police said the woman made up the story to get them there.

They said Centeno initially claimed she was a neighbor and that she could see someone holding weapons. She then abruptly hung up.

Police said they surrounded the complex and made entry. Several people were detained.

It was eventually determined that Centeno had called about her own apartment and that she was the caller.

The reason the call was made was to get police there, officers said.

Why she wanted police at her apartment remains unknown.

Her young child was home with her at the time of the police response. The child was not hurt.

The scene broke down as of 11 a.m.

Centeno was charged with misuse of the 911 system, falsely reporting an incident, interfering with an officer, reckless endangerment and risk of injury.

She's being held on a $50,000 bond.

A court date of Dec. 8 was assigned.

No other details were released.
