CT troopers pull driver from burning car on I-91 in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Troopers were able to pull an unconscious driver from a burning motor vehicle on Interstate 91 in Hartford early Friday morning.

The incident took place on the northbound side of I-91 near exit 29A around 3 a.m.  

The unidentified trooper was working a highway construction job when a crash occurred nearby. A Nissan came to rest on its roof and caught on fire, state police said.

Driver was trapped inside the vehicle.  As troopers worked to extinguish the fire, others were able to pull the driver from the burning vehicle.  

The unidentified driver was rushed to Hartford Hospital "for evaluation," but police said that driver "did not suffer any serious injuries." 

There were no reported injures to the troopers, state police said.
