Woman killed in Monday morning crash in Southbury

SOUTHBURY, CT (WFSB) -

An Oxford woman was killed in a crash Monday morning in Southbury that involved a garbage truck.

The crash happened on Route 188 in Southbury, and the road was shut down for hours while officials investigated.

On Monday afternoon, police identified the woman who died as 59-year-old Kim Lesko.

Troopers said the crash involved a truck from Springer Sanitation Inc., which hit the woman's car that had swerved while going around a curve.

Police said the crash happened when it was raining and the road was dark. The road was also partially slushy.

An official cause of the crash has not been determined.
