SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Connecticut State Police assisted in the search for a Southington bank robbery suspect near Route 8 in Naugatuck on Monday morning.

Police were searching the area along Route 8 near exit 24 at around 10:45 a.m. The suspect, identified as 44-year-old David Latino, was captured by noon.

Police said Latino had robbed a bank in Southington Monday morning, and then fled in a car passing through several downs, before his car became disabled in Naugatuck on Route 8 near Exit 25.

He then ran through the Naugatuck River and into the High Rock State Forest area.

Latino was then located around noon in High Rock Forest.
